​Ertan Demiralp is an Istanbul-based independent composer, songwriter, and guitarist who blends his rock roots with Americana and Modern Jazz. Born in 1970 in the seaside neighborhood of Moda, Kadıköy, his music is defined by an acoustic approach, cinematic atmosphere, and deep storytelling.
His musical journey began in 1987 with classical guitar and music theory. During high school, he founded his first rock band, Ardor, marking the beginning of a decade-long stage career. Throughout the 90s, Demiralp became a prominent figure in Istanbul’s vibrant live music scene, performing with various bands including Ardor, Parted Quartet, Los Quemeros, The Post Office Band, The Peri Band, The Durusu Band, and Nev’s Band, while also contributing to numerous studio projects as a session musician.
Following the 1999 earthquake, he took a hiatus from the stage and pivoted his creative focus toward the world of digital design. However, music remained an inseparable part of his life; over the next twenty years, he composed dozens of songs reflecting his evolution as both a musician and a storyteller.
In 2021, during the pandemic, Demiralp stepped into music production and returned to his roots with the release of his first solo Hard Rock single, “Sahipsiz Yollar.” This track signaled a new era, merging artistic freedom and emotional sincerity with a contemporary sound. He followed this with his long-awaited Folk Rock project, “Siyah Beyaz Hikâyeler” (Black and White Stories), a double album released in two parts: Part 1 in 2025 and Part 2 in 2026.
Today, drawing inspiration from across the globe and bridging the past with the present through modern technology, Ertan Demiralp continues his journey—which began on the shores of Moda—now residing and creating in the seaside district of Caddebostan with the same enduring passion.
